Unshielded fire alarm cable (FPLR & FPL) is a kind of cable without shielding.

Type FPLR power-limited fire alarm riser cable is suitable for use in a vertical run in a shaft or to penetrate one or more floors. The cable has fire-resistant characteristics capable of preventing fire travel from floor to floor.

Type FPL power-limited fire alarm cable is suitable for general purpose fire alarm use. The cable is fire resistant to the spread of fire. But it doesn’t include installation in riser, ducts and plenums unless the cable is installed in conduit.
