Shielded fire alarm cable (FPLP) is UL Listed under the FPLP category for plenum-rated applications. It features an overall metallic foil shield that effectively blocks electromagnetic interference (EMI), ensuring stable signal transmission in electrically noisy environments. The shielding slightly increases cable diameter and cost, and proper grounding is required during installation to maintain optimal performance.
Type FPLP power-limited fire alarm plenum cable is suitable for direct installation in ducts, plenums, and other air-handling spaces. It offers excellent fire resistance and low smoke emission. Tested to UL 1424 and NFPA 262 (Steiner Tunnel) for flame spread and smoke density.
